What is Visa Direct?

Visa Direct is a transfer method that allows you to send funds directly to eligible Visa cards in supported countries.

Transfers are processed through the Visa network and are typically faster than traditional international bank transfers.

You can use Visa Direct for selected local and international payments, depending on your account type and eligibility.

Who can use Visa Direct?

Visa Direct is available to:

  • Personal customers who are UK residents, or
  • Corporate customers incorporated in the UK

In addition, the customer structure must not include individuals or entities with residency in the following jurisdictions:

Belarus, Crimea, Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Laos, Lebanon, Libya, Myanmar, North Korea, Russia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, certain regions of Ukraine, Venezuela.

Industry restrictions for corporate customers

Visa Direct is not available to corporate customers operating in the following industries:

  • Cryptocurrency derivatives (including futures, options, perpetual contracts)
  • Cryptocurrency mining
  • Custodial wallets
  • Non-custodial wallets
  • Peer-to-peer (P2P) digital asset trading
  • Regulated or unregulated Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs)
  • Regulated digital asset exchanges

  • UAE (AED)
  • Pakistan (PKR)
  • Hong Kong (HKD)
  • Singapore (SGD)
  • Thailand (THB)

SEPA countries

  • Portugal
  • Spain
  • Italy
  • Slovakia
  • Slovenia

International (SWIFT-supported destinations)

  • Armenia
  • Azerbaijan
  • Georgia
  • Kazakhstan
