I made a transfer to the wrong bank account. What should I do?

Accidentally sent money to the wrong account? Don’t worry, it happens. To resolve the situation, it’s best to contact our customer support team as quickly as possible. We’ll guide you through the next steps.

 

  • If there’s a mistake in the bank account number or a bank code (BIC, SWIFT, sort-code), then the payment will simply bounce back. Unfortunately, we can’t provide an exact timeframe for its return.
  • If the payment is still being processed by us, or our banking partner, we’ll cancel it. However, please note that certain payment systems like SEPA and Faster Payments process transactions rapidly, making cancellation difficult.
  • If the erroneous payment was sent to a real person’s account, there’s a chance that it’ll be credited by the beneficiary bank. In this case, our financial department can initiate a transfer recall, but bear in mind that this is a paid service with no guarantee of funds being returned.
