How can I verify a Business Account?

Verifying a business account is broken down into three key stages:

  1. Account Operator Verification
  2. Incorporation Details and Ownership
  3. Business Details

We’ll walk you through the process as it happens, but if you’d like more support, take a look at this article for a detailed explanation.

Step 1 - Account Operator

The Account Operator is the person authorised by the company to open and operate its Altery account. This can be a UBO, director, shareholder or authorised representative.

The Account Operator must complete the full verification process. You’ll need to:

  • Provide a valid passport or ID document.
  • Take or upload a clear photo of the document. Please ensure the image is legible, uncut and has all corners visible.
  • Complete a video selfie so we can match your face with the photo on your identity document.
  • Upload a proof of address document.
  • If you’re an authorised representative, upload a valid Power of Attorney.
  • Upload a board resolution appointing you to open and operate the company’s account.

The same requirements apply to users who are granted access to the Altery Business portal, including users with view-only permissions.

Step 2 - Incorporation Details and Ownership

It’s time to provide information about the company:

  • Company name
  • Country of incorporation
  • Registration number
  • Company structure and ownership details

You’ll also need to provide details about the company’s shareholders, UBOs, directors and authorised signatories.

Shareholders must complete verification by providing proof of identity, proof of address and the required questionnaire. UBOs, directors and authorised signatories may also be required to complete verification.

Please upload the following company documents:

  • Certificate of Incorporation
  • Memorandum and Articles of Association
  • Certificate of registered shareholders
  • Certificate of registered office
  • Certificate of directors and secretary
  • Certificate of good standing, if available
  • Applicable licence, if required for your business activity

Documents should be provided in English or Greek. If a document is issued in another language, an official certified translation is required.

Step 3 - Business Details

Lastly, you’ll complete a short questionnaire with more information about your company and the reasons for applying for an Altery EU account.

You’ll be asked to provide:

  • Company’s legal form
  • Date of incorporation
  • Industry
  • Trading name
  • Whether the company has changed its name
  • Whether the company issues bearer shares
  • Website address
  • Registered address
  • Trading address, if different
  • Purpose of opening the account
  • Estimated monthly and annual turnover

If everything looks in order, click ‘Submit’ to send the verification application to our internal teams.

That’s it! We’ll be in touch if we need anything else and will keep you updated about your verification status throughout the process. Thank you for your time — we’re so excited to be working with you.
