We’re updating our card programme to improve performance, security, and reliability. Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions about the migration.
What is happening to my card?
We’re migrating from our previous card provider to our own issuing infrastructure.
As part of this change, we’re replacing your current card with a new Altery-issued card.
We will automatically issue a new virtual card. If you want to continue using a physical card, you can order a new one free of charge starting in May. We’ll share the exact date with you in advance.
Why is this change happening?
This update allows us to offer a more stable and improved card experience, with better control over features and performance.
When will my current card stop working?
Your current card will continue to work until 8 June 2026.
After this date, we will permanently deactivate your current card.
Will I receive a new card?
Yes.
- We'll issue your new virtual card automatically
- You may also be able to order a new plastic card free of charge, depending on your region
Do I need to take any action?
In most cases, no immediate action is required.
However, we strongly recommend that you:
- Place an order for your free card when we notify you
- Start using your new card as soon as it’s available
- Update your payment details for subscriptions and recurring payments
What happens if I don’t take action?
Your old card will stop working on 8 June 2026.
If you haven’t updated your payment details, this may lead to failed transactions or interrupted services.
How do I get a new plastic card?
If you’re eligible, you’ll be able to order a new plastic card directly in the app once this option becomes available.
You’ll receive a notification when ordering opens.
Is the new card free?
We issue virtual cards automatically at no cost, and if you receive a notification to order a new plastic card, you can place the order within the specified period free of charge, with delivery provided at no cost.
Can I still use my old card during the transition?
Yes, your current card will continue to work until 8 June 2026.
We recommend switching to your new card before this date to avoid any disruption.
What happens to my subscriptions and recurring payments?
Subscriptions linked to your old card will not transfer automatically.
You’ll need to update your card details with each service provider.
What should I do if I haven’t received my plastic card?
If your card hasn’t arrived, you can continue using your virtual card.
If needed, contact our support team and we’ll help you check the status.
Why can’t I order a plastic card in my region?
In some regions, plastic card delivery may be limited.
If this applies to you, you’ll receive a virtual card instead. If you need a plastic card, contact support and we’ll review available options.
Is my money safe during this migration?
Yes, your funds remain fully secure throughout the process.
This change only affects your card details, not your account balance.
Why is Apple Pay not available on my new card?
We are currently completing Apple Pay certification for our new Altery cards. During this period, Apple Pay will not be available for newly issued cards.
We’ll let you know as soon as this feature becomes available.
What if I have multiple cards?
Each card will be migrated separately.
Please make sure to review all your cards and update payment details where needed.
