Employee Cards allow businesses to provide employees with controlled access to company funds for business-related spending.
To use an Employee Card, you need to:
- Be a verified business customer with Altery
- Have promo cards (physical card) - to get them, send a message to our support team
- Request to be enabled for the employee card program and provide us know how many employees will require cards.
How to request employee card access
To onboard employees, please contact Altery support.
How employee cards work
Employee Card onboarding includes three steps:
- The business provides the employee with a physical promo card
- Altery generates and shares an invitation link
- The employee:
- opens the link
- creates login credentials
- completes identity verification
- signs in to the Altery Business app
Once setup is completed, the employee can access and use the card.
What businesses can do
Businesses can:
- provide employees with company cards
- control which employees receive access
- monitor employee card transactions
- manage card limits
- freeze, block and close cards
What employees can do
Employees can:
- use the assigned card for payments
- view card details
- see their transaction history in the Altery Business app
- freeze cards
Employees cannot:
- access the main business account
- manage other employees
- change business settings
Important information
- Employee Cards only work with:
- a promo card
- an invitation link
- Employee Cards are managed via the Altery Business app
- The standard Altery app is not supported for Employee Cards

Can employees request cards themselves?
No. Employee Cards are issued as part of a business setup.
Can employees access the business account?
No. Employees only have access to their assigned card.
What happens if the employee loses access?
The business should contact support for assistance.
Can an Employee Card be reassigned to another employee?
No. We assign an Employee Card to a specific employee during onboarding, and we can't transfer it to another user.
If you need to give access to a different employee, you must start a new onboarding process.
